The past year has been one of transformative growth and accomplishment at Synergy Spine Solutions. From securing pivotal funding to achieving significant clinical trial milestones and expanding our global footprint, we are proud to share the highlights of 2024.

Securing strategic investment
In January, Synergy Spine Solutions reached a major milestone with the close of a $30 million Series A equity financing round. This investment, led by Amzak Health alongside other prominent investors, is set to drive our mission forward.
The funds will support key initiatives, including the completion of the 2-Level IDE clinical trial, FDA Pre-Market Approval submissions, and the continued global commercialization of the Synergy Disc.

Clinical trial milestones
In September, Synergy Spine Solutions achieved another critical accomplishment with the completion of patient enrollment for the U.S. 2-Level IDE clinical trial. This study builds on the success of the 1-Level IDE trial, further validating the Synergy Disc’s innovative design for restoring alignment and preserving motion.
Dr. Pierce Nunley, a principal investigator, said: “The Synergy Disc’s unique lordotic core design sets it apart, offering alignment restoration and stability even in multi-level procedures. It’s an exciting advancement for cervical TDR and has the potential to become a go-to device for surgeons worldwide.”
Dr. Armen Khachatryan echoed these sentiments, saying: “The Synergy Disc represents a significant leap forward, addressing unmet clinical needs with its advanced design and ease of implantation. Its potential indications expand the boundaries of motion preservation.”
Celebrating partnerships and achievements
In May, we honored our Australia-New Zealand distributor, LifeHealthcare, by presenting Josh Thompson, General Manager – Spine Australia, with the Distributor of the Year award. Their exceptional efforts have made the Synergy Disc a preferred choice for patients and surgeons in the region.
This recognition underscores the importance of our global partnerships. By fostering a culture of excellence, we strengthen our mission to provide innovative cervical disc replacement solutions worldwide. Jon Mills, Director of Business Development – Asia, and Dr. Neil Duggal, Chief Medical Officer, presented the award on behalf of Synergy Spine Solutions.
Engaging the global spine community
From hosting engaging events to unveiling new resources, 2024 was a year of active collaboration and innovation. In April Dr. Neil Duggal attended the Spine Society of Australia in April and presented at the Deformity Down Under meeting.
At Eurospine in Vienna, we welcomed Dr. George Hadjigeorgiou, whose presentation on hybrid procedures at our EMEA distributor meeting provided valuable perspectives on the real-world benefits of cervical disc arthroplasty.
October marked the launch of our new Synergy Disc product animation, produced in collaboration with Move Animation Studio. This dynamic resource effectively demonstrates the device’s ability to restore both alignment and balance while preserving natural motion.
We also celebrated Dr. Jorge Diamantopoulos Fernández who joined Dr. Bruce Hall and Dr. Navraj Heran in reaching the milestone of 100 Synergy Disc implantations in 2024.
Their dedication to motion preservation inspires our ongoing commitment to improving patient outcomes, and we were proud to recognise and support their leadership in cervical disc arthroplasty.
Looking ahead to 2025
As we reflect on a momentous 2024, our sights are set firmly on the future. In 2025, Synergy Spine Solutions will continue to prioritize the growth of our international business, complete the regulatory pathway for FDA approval, and deepen our relationships with global partners.
